Well, okay, not really, but so close to doing that.

It's nice that he has titles. It seems that a good percentage of Craigslist cars do not have any title for them.

'76 is the last year for the classic rounded C-pillar look on the Pacer, and before they changed the front end. This... this is a bargain way into Pacerhood, and thus very rad.

Nice, I've somewhat liked the look of these. The Gremlin I didn't mind either.
I don't know if I'd own one though.

I'll take mine powder blue with pseudo-flames, a tape-deck CD player, and a red vines dispenser mounted in the headliner.

The front end changed in '78, second year of the wagon.

So, in other words, the '77 is the most pointless Pacer - ruined looks, but a ruination that is half-assed.

Where are you seeing a difference from the 75-76 to the 77? I thought the only change was when they raised the hood for '78.

I'm mostly referring to the wagon as the ruination of the Pacer, as I rarely see anything but past the point of its introduction. I just don't like the look at all. For some reason, I was thinking either the normal one had gotten discontinued or production numbers for it caved in past that point, but I was perhaps delirious- forgive me. Kind of like how I tend to forget there are any Falcons past the '65.

Ah, gotcha. I've had a bunch of Pacers and I would have been shocked if there was something I missed. I don't like the wagons, either, but the real crime was losing the sloped hood. The wagon was pretty practical, though, and did outsell the coupe once it was introduced, so you do see more of them.
I know what you mean about the Falcon.

The regular '75-76 Pacer hatch was still available with no styling changes in 1977. They just added the wagon companion. And even with the "ruined" '78-80 nose, you could still get the hatch.
See? This is from the '77 brochure.
But yeah, the wagon vastly outsold the hatch once it was introduced in '77. Thing is, because sales cratered so rapidly after '76, the vast majority of Pacers were the hatch body.

The coupe was made all the way through 1980. They just weren't anywhere near as popular as the more conventional looking wagon when it was released in 77. Also, the raised hood served a purpose, to fit a larger radiator for the V8. Controversial in design, but functional none the less.
I've been a Pacer fan since I was a kit. Restomodded a 78 V8 Coupe with my dad as my first car. I've had it for 15 years now:
I had no idea there were other Pacer fans out there. Mine's got a 401 and T-5 from a Cobra R. I think it's one of the most under-rated hoon machines ever. RWD manual hatchback. Checks all the right boxes.
